Just a few tram stops from the center of Prague, you’ll find the neighborhood of Žižkov which is home to a nice group of vintage shops which are packed full of second hand clothing and other goodies. They are all located within just a few blocks of each other in a neighborhood blossoming with cafes, bars, and eateries. You can walk from Jiriho Z Podebrad Metro stop about 5 minutes (Green Line) Or you can take the trams 5, 26, or 9 to Tram Stop “Lipanska” and walk up the hill right behind the church. Some well known landmarks in the area are Palac Akropolis and the Television Tower which are both just a few blocks away.
Your first stop will be Bohemian Retro which is located at Chvalova 8 . The shop is brimming with scarves, dresses, skirts, and shirts. If you like to dig for second hand treasures then this is the shop for you. It’s extremely difficult to leave this shop empty handed.
The next stop is home to yours truly. We scour second hand shops for vintage dress shirts and skirts and then we silk screen print our own designs onto them. We are located just a block away at Cajkovskeho 22. You probably passed a church on your way to Bohemian retro, we’re up the other side of the hill behind the church.
And the final little vintage shop is called Studio Vintage and it’s located at Kubelíkova 45, just a 30 second walk from Bliss Farm. Here you will find a cozy little store which resembles more of the classic boutique type of feel. These items will take you back to another time and place, and maybe even the fireplace in the corner will be going to make you feel all the more welcome.
So since you’re in the area, why not get a burger or some ribs right? Follow Kubelikova back where you came from and at Chvalova 1 you’ll find a place called U Kurelu which is home to the absolute best smoked ribs, burgers (veggie options too) and an assortment of beer. Yum!
